Charlie is almost 4 years old and in true Frenchie fashion has a big personality full of love.
Charlie has grown up in a house with a large male dog and other female frenchies. He favors his relationship with the small female dog and loves his human mom. In fact, he would love to have his human all to himself.
At this time, we feel Charlie would do best in a calm, loving home without other dogs. However, we would consider a meet and greet and special circumstances.
Background:
Charlie was purchased from a breeder at 8 weeks old and had a great start to life with 2 fur siblings and parents. At 10 months old, Charlie was taken to the vet because he began to act unwell. The vet confirmed that he had a sudden onset of cataracts. Surgery would fix the cataracts but was not something his family was able to afford. Since this diagnosis, Charlie now lives with a sweet, 2 year old toddler in addition to his fur siblings. We feel that due to Charlie’s eye condition, over time he has become a bit more unsure and protective to himself when it comes to the larger male dog or big commotion around him. Charlie can be very reactive to his big brother and scared of new people around him in his home where he protects. This is where concerns of Charlie’s safety come into the picture. A larger dog’s reaction could be very harmful to Charlie. When new people come to visit his home, Charlie barks to his defense and needs time to adjust to unknown people.
Charlie is looking for a loving and patient home that will help him with his anxiety related to his cataracts. Charlie could have cataract surgery as well to correct this condition. He is a young boy and has lots of life to live and love to give.
Charlie does well in the car. He enjoys walks in the park and to sniff around. He loves to get his human affection.
