This young boy was found as a stray and brought to a shelter; sadly, it wasn’t his first time. Due to overcrowding and his high puppy-like Husky energy, he found himself on the euthanasia list but was saved by a hero and brought to our rescue.
Kai is a 15-month-old Siberian Huskey / Shepherd mix who weighs 49 lbs.
It will come as no surprise that Kai needs training but he is willing & able to learn. He already knows commands and his foster family is working on helping him be his best self!
Kai is dog-friendly and currently living with 2 resident older dogs.
We are still getting to know more about this pup, but here is what we know so far…
MORE ABOUT KAI:
- Neutered & up to date on shots, rabies & is microchipped
- Very friendly, but sometimes needs a little time to warm up
- Loves people, head scratches, and belly rubs!
- He is great walking on a leash!
- He loves cuddles too
- Good with other dogs (to an extent), he has lots of energy that can be overwhelming to older dogs (he’s not fully aware of “personal space”)
- He does like to play-bite (he’s still a pup) but is using training tools to work through this
- Kai is great on a leash, walks well, and knows some commands like sit, stay, paw
- He might be a counter surfer, looking for yummy treats (but also being trained on this)
- While not yet a fan, he is learning crate training
- Does well in the car
- Likes his baths, and could be a great water dog!
- Has not been tested with cats or kids yet
Kai’s ideal forever home includes:
- A family that is familiar with the Huskey breed
- A large fenced yard for his zoomies
- Another young dog to play with to match his energy
- A highly active family that will walk him and take him on adventures
- No small children (his energy may be too much)
